Mint Peppermint
Peppermint
Mentha x piperita
Peppermint has so many uses it is just great to have in the garden. Mint is used in teas, dishes, ice cream,desserts, salads, cakes and other uses. Add some to the bath!
Mint is great for so many things and so easy to grow!
It grows so well you might want to grow it in a medium sized container that drains well! Just sit in the sun or partial shade and it does well! Be careful it can take over your garden fast!
Caraway
Caraway (Carum carvi) also known as Meridian Fenne
Similar in appearance to the carrot plant Caraway’s main stem grows around 40-60 cm tall. It has stems 20-30 cm with featherly leaves. Caraway makes fruit that are crescent-shaped achenes roughly 2mm long. The plant prefers sunny , warm, locations with well drained soil!

Native to the Egypt area Cumin grows in mostly hot countries and is from the parsley family. It also is grown in the Americas as well a Morocco, China, Africa and other areas. Cumin has a strong flavor that is often used in savory spice mixes. Perfect for mexican foods and chicken and pork dishes!
It is also used for sausages and cheeses! It has also been used as a pickling ingredient! Used in chili and curry power!
Cumin is good for the stomach, a diuretic, stimulant,, emmenagogic and antispasmodic ,astringent, carminative, and other other uses. It is also good for stimulating appetite!
Wild common hops - Humulus lupulus

Humulus lupulus is a perennial vine that thrives best in direct sunlight! It seems to do ok in partial shade also. Used for beer making it blooms from July to August. It is also used to make a tea and soda in various areas of the world. Its is from genus Cannabis (hemp) family. It is a bitter tasting herb that is used for its flavor and relaxing effect.
It gives an effect like Valerian, given an ease to a sleepless night! The potency of the hops only stores for a few months and is air and light sensitive.
It has also been used for its antibacterial activity!
It has a climbing vine much like peas or beans and produces an awesome cone! the first record of hops was 736 in Germany.

One of the most popular culinary herbs Summer Savory is perfect for any garden. An annual and member of the mint family it is used in America cuisines as well in eastern European dishes. Has a wonderful pleasant aroma that will make any home smell awesome. Is mainly used for flavoring chicken, turkey, dressings, stews, soups.
Best planted late winter early spring!
Coriander- Coriandum sativum
Coriander Coriandum sativum is in the Parsley family with pink and white flowers. The young leafs are perfect for salads and salsa. It is also called cilantro, or chinese parsley! You can also grind the seed-like fruit into a powder for flavoring. It is also one of 20 ingredients found in Curry powder!
Can be found in Latin, Caribbean, Mediterranean, North African, Indian, Southeast Mexican, Asian foods.
Sweet and savory it is perfect for meats, pork, chickens, turkey, wild, game, fish, shrimp
Perfect for greenbeans, eggs, pasta, potatoes
Sage (Salvia officinalis)

Sage can be dried but is best used fresh for cooking! After pruning wait till the leafs have grown back and then cut back right before old wood. Hang in dark dry area until dry then place in airtight container! Sage works great in porks, meat, sausage, chicken, beef, wildgame, beans, soups. pasta. chowder. beef stews
Anise hyssop -Pimpinella anisum

Anise is sweet and very aromatic and distinguished by its Licorice flavor. Anise is a herbaceous plant that grows to around 3 foot tall. Anise is a mild antiparasitic that can be used for digestive issues. A native to the eastern Mediterranean region Anise is the perfect herb if you like butterflies in the garden! Anise is a food source for many butterflies and moths.
Be sure to not transplant Anise because it has a taproot that does not like being moved!
Anise is also used to flavor Liquor Arab!
It also produces aniseed oil, an essential oil used to treat colds and flu!
Anise seeds are also used to make herbal tea used as a lactation aid for women!
Sweet Marjoram
Origanum majorana is native to North Africa and Southeast Asian
Sweet Marjoram has a mild oregano flavor with a hint of balsam. It is wonderfully aromatic. It is good with veal, beef, lamb, green veggies, carrots, eggplant, eggs, mushrooms, parsnips, potatoes, squash, and tomatoes. roast poultry,cauliflower,fish, pates,! It is great for stews and soup and add it to your roast also!
Has mildly antiseptic properties and is good for the skin! It has also been used to help digestion and tension.
grows to about 1′ tall aromatic leaves that are grey-green!
Be sure to not cover the seeds after you sow them. They need light to germinate!
Dill Bouquet

The Dill produces lacy yellow flowers that make any garden come alive. Expect the plant to grow from 3-4 feet tall and and around 1-2 feet wide.
Needs Full sun with plenty of moisture and a well drained area.
Spanish Tarragon

Tarragon is a perennial herb with a strong undertone of anise. Tarragon is great with meats, veggies, salads, pasta, and even desert dishes.
The plants has been used as a stimulate and sedative! IT once was used to flavor a cocoa based drink the aztecs used to drink!
It is also known as Mugwart, Artemisia Draunculuc, Little Dragon
English Thyme-Thymus vulgaris
English Thyme (Thymus vulgaris):
English Thyme is full of flavor and is known as a savory herb. Blended with other savory herbs it can be an awesome experience. Flavor beef, cheese. chowders, tomato sauce, and different kind of game.
Lemon Basil
Lemon Basil – ocimum basilicum var. citriodorum … A lemon-scented variety of basil with a very small plant, great for windows. Easy to grow just don’t give too much water and make it drains well! It tends to die with too much moister!
Thai Basil
ocimum basilicum ‘Thai’.. This variety of basil with a liquorice flavour and aroma used in many oriental dishes.
Chives

Chives are great for so many dishes and are great to add to bases early during cooking and even right at the end. They are great for any potato dish, green beans,and even slaw! You enjoy chives straight out of the herb garden! Chop them up and spread them around, makes mashed potatoes rock! Put them in any corn dish!
Fennel -Foeniculum officinale

Fennel is often used in fish dishes and thought to make it easier to digest fish. It is also used as an insect repellant and also used in a tea in Europe for colic in babies.
It is very easy to grow and tends to like lose well drained soil. If you can’t plant it in fall or spring and does well through the winter months. Don’t over water it does not like too much water. Never plant Fennel too close to tomatoes, beans, or cabbage plants. It tends to slow growth due to a chemical in the plant.
You can expect it to take about 80 days to reach full size!

Greek Oregano

Greek Oregano is a great herb with a strong flavor. Don’t expect it to be too strong if you add it early. The flavor seems to cook down very fast! Cooking with fresh Oregano is a great experience and must for many italian dishes! It is best used fresh, refrigerate if not used right away!
Sauces (white and tomato), stews, soups, fish, lamb, pork, vegetables, butters, and vinegars.
Rosemary

Rosemary has a cooling and refreshing flavor. Expect the bees to be busy as they love to frequent rosemary! Not only will you have the best smelling garden but kitchen as well. Cooking with Rosemary is an awesome experience and gives a wonderful flavor to foods! Rosemary is a must for every herb garden!

Purple Basil
Purple basil is an excellent garnish and has a fresh flavor perfect for many dishes. Remember to remove green shoots as they appear, this will help keep the plant purple. For a healthier oil rich plant be sure to place the plant in a sunlight friendly space.
