Humulus lupulus is a perennial vine that thrives best in direct sunlight! It seems to do ok in partial shade also. Used for beer making it blooms from July to August. It is also used to make a tea and soda in various areas of the world. Its is from genus Cannabis (hemp) family. It is a bitter tasting herb that is used for its flavor and relaxing effect.

It gives an effect like Valerian,  given an ease to a sleepless night! The potency of the hops only stores for  a few months and is air and light sensitive.

It has also been used for its antibacterial activity!

It has a climbing  vine much like peas or beans and produces an awesome cone! the first record of hops was 736  in Germany.
